* ►May 1, 2010 - Flu jab meant to help, so why did Ashley die? - All was well with two-year-old Ashley Epapara and her twin, Jaime, until about midnight on April 8. - The Australian - "Anne Kelso, one of the experts who approved the vaccine, cannot explain why it would be causing problems. 'There's no reason, on first principle, to think putting swine flu with the other virus would be any different to any previous trivalent vaccine,' said Professor Kelso, director of the WHO Centre for Influenza in Melbourne and a member of the TGA's vaccine committee. 'If it turns out to be the case, we'll need to investigate why, and it will be a very important lesson.'  David Durrheim, the only Australian on the WHO's nine-member Strategic Advisory Group of Experts, which cleared the use of a trivalent vaccine three weeks after Australia's approval, notes that New Zealand also suspended vaccinations in young children last week. This was after five cases of febrile convulsions. Yet Singapore -- the only southern hemisphere country to have given large amounts of the CSL vaccine to children -- has not reported any problems. 'The question that needs to be resolved is whether this is a vaccine issue or rather a result of many more doses administered than previously to this age group,' Professor Durrheim said."

* ►May 1, 2010 - Answers wanted over flu vaccine problems (includes video) - Yahoo!7 News, Australia - "Maxine Drake from the WA Health Consumers Council says the lack of information could permanently deter some parents from vaccinating their children. 'People will want valid plausible explanations and they will want openness and honesty about what has happened here,' she said. 'Nobody will benefit from the Government or the public health experts cajoling and in a way intimidating people back into vaccination it has to be done by reinstating people's confidence through good science and good explanation. 'I think that the vaccination rates will likely dip until we can get a good explanation and help people to feel confident again."

Why did Jenny McCarthy's former status as Playboy playmate rate a mention by PBS, but not the bioethicist's connection to GlaxoSmithKline? Here's what else was conspicuously absent from Autism Wars: Jenny McCarthy's doctor (who informed us on the evil internet that he was interviewed with her for over 2 hours, but was cut out of the show) or ANY doctor currently recovering autistic children. Desiree Jennings' doctor who recovered her was not interviewed, nor was the Johns Hopkins doctor who diagnosed her. Worse, PBS implied her illness was a hoax with no evidence other than speculation by one local news station. Also missing were: scientists responsible for the large body of research showing harm associated with vaccines and vaccine ingredients. Public health officials who are not backing the CDC party line, such as former NIH Director Dr. Bernadine Healy. Rebuttals to the studies cited by Offit, or mention of their pharma funding. These studies were presented as FACT with no flaws. Proof of safety of thimerosal and proof of safety of administration of multiple vaccines."
