"South Africa Running Low on Flu Vaccine Stocks"

Due in part to the worldwide scare over severe acute respiratory syndrome
(SARS) as well as new cases of bird flu in Hong Kong, flu vaccine stocks in South Africa are running low. The increased demand for the flu vaccine in South Africa has depleted the supplies of several manufacturers, and the remaining manufacturers are running low, according to MedInfo doctor Andrew Jamieson. Jamieson noted that the flu vaccine is not effective against SARS.
