contact your congressional representatives
watch for action recommendation in the HOUSE
Unlocking Autism is encouraging you to voice your opinion:
1) Contact both of the Senators from your state. Call them and fax
them....every day...until you get the result that
you want. Call and find
out who the legislative aide for your Senators handles the issues of autism.
Get to know them and get them to know you. Faxes are better than emails
because they must be logged and require a response. Stay on them until you
get a response and tell them to put their response in writing.
2) Send a fax specifically to Bill Frist to let him know that you
want his support. In taking on the position he has now opened up his level
of responsibility. When Senator Lott stepped down and Senator Frist assumed
his throne, it did throw a bit of a wrench in the works for those who were
hoping this issue would be revisited with the new Congress. But in a way, it
is a good thing that has happened. Frist is more accountable to the American
public than just his own constituency...which gives the autism community, and
those damaged by vaccines, more power.
Senator Frist's Fax is: 202-228-1264
So, please be sure to send those letters in. Be sure to call. The best
method for sending in a letter is to fax it in to the Senators offices
because they have to log them. Emails are easily deleted but faxes must be
handled and responded to.
We will be sending out update emails with the new co-sponsors listed fairly
regularly until this bill becomes a law or is defeated.
The autism community, for those who were injured by vaccines, has been
blessed with an opportunity to reverse some of the most egregious legislation
ever passed in this country. It cannot be done by a few people, but it can
be done through THE POWER OF ONE COMMUNITY...as long as they are consistent
and determined.
The Eli Lilly Rider was attached and swept through the Halls of Congress like
a wildfire in a week to become law. This new provision, with enough power
driving force behind it, can overcome that legislation in the same amount of
time if we as a people want it to succeed.
Make sure as part of your New Year's Resolution that you exercise your
political muscle. It's important for the future of your family and your
child.
Remember "The only place that sweat comes before success is in the
dictionary."
