I have been
meaning to write this note for a while but have been away on holiday for a
couple of weeks. I write to praise the efforts of Sandy Gottstein and her
friends and thank you for all the valuable work you have performed and
support you have provided to interested parties all over the world for so many
years.
It is sad
that financial constraints have put the Vaccination News at risk of being lost
to us. However, we all realise that such problems are facts of life for those of
us who are not toeing the party line with regard to sacred cows such as the
vaccination industry. Perhaps golden goose would be a more accurate analogy.
Sandys work
and views came to my attention many years ago when I met her though internet
discussion groups. Her ideas and information were very helpful to me and
instrumental in allowing me to interpret what I was seeing in front of me.
Most of us
laboratory based researchers just do not have the time to scan the literature
for ourselves, to track down publications or to go through all the detailed
interpretations. Sandys efforts make it possible for us to keep up-to-date with
developments and to address issues as they appear.
In order to
get to the truth it is as necessary to read and understand all points of view
even if it does not accord with our own. Sandys work is particularly important
in this respect. It is a privilege and a pleasure to be able to access this
information as and when required. I am delighted that Sandy has managed, for the
time being at least, to keep the operation afloat and hope that supportive
funding is located in order to keep such an important information tool afloat.

"A foolish faith in authority is the worst enemy of truth."

"I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves, and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education."
-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to William C. Jarvis, September 28, 1820
