As of Friday, Sept. 20, over 500 Washington, D.C., school students still had not met or proven that they had met immunization compliance regulations imposed by the district school board. The board has therefore legally barred them from attending classes this school term. Officials are now considering legal action against the students for school truancy and against parents, citing them for neglect, which could result in fines and a jail term.
