"The MMR Rift; Scotland Is Divided Over Controversial Vaccine" Daily Record (UK) (www.dailyrecord.co.uk) (09/07/02) P. 10; Gardham, Magnus

Nearly nine of 10 Scottish parents are back to complying with the immunization requirements of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine since an alleged link between the vaccine and autism was found to be unsubstantiated.  Overall, vaccine uptake for Scottish children under age two was at 88.6 percent, up just 1 percent from the previous quarter, but Scottish officials are pleased with the small increase just the same.  Highest MMR uptake, at 95.7 percent, was among children in Orkney, followed by 87.3 percent of children in Dumfries and Galloway, and 92.4 percent in Forth Valley.  At the lowest end was Highland at 82.8 percent.
