"Indonesia Is World's Biggest Polio Vaccine Producer"

Indonesia produces 1.8 billion polio vaccine doses per year, which makes the country the world's largest polio vaccine producer, according to state-owned pharmaceutical industry PT Bio Farma's finance director Djoharsyah.  Most doses were sold to Afghanistan, Angola, and Egypt with worldwide demand remaining high, he says.  Bio Farma supplied 27 million doses of the polio vaccine to the first and second rounds of the National Immunization Week.  In an attempt to diversify its offerings, the company will start producing hepatitis B vaccines and rotavirus vaccines next year.
