"EC Injects Funds Into Vaccination Effort" Vietnam News (vietnamnews.vnagency.com.vn) (09/06/02)
Vietnam's National Expanded Program on Immunization is to receive approximately $242,700 from the European Commission. The funds, to be given through UNICEF, will be used to buy 2 million doses of diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTP) vaccine. Vietnam is currently experiencing a shortage of the DTP vaccine, after officials determined earlier this year that several million doses of vaccine provided by UNICEF and the Nha Trang Vaccine Institute were of poor quality.
