The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has unveiled its smallpox bioterrorism response plan. Included in the 48-page plan are answers to logistical and organizational concerns related to setting up clinics to administer vaccinations to 1 million people in 10 days in the event of a bioterrorism attack. The report also includes information technology (IT) specifications consisting of 12 desktop or notebook computers, each of which come with an Internet connection if Web-based databases are used. The government has also pledged to provide technical assistance in designing databases and developing vaccine-tracking systems.
