MEETING SEVEN Potential Role of Vaccinations in Sudden
Unexpected Death in Infancy
The seventh meeting of the Immunization Safety
Review Committee will be held October 28-29, 2002 in Irvine, CA. This
meeting will be part of the information gathering process of the committee.
On October 28th, the meeting will be open to the
public. For those unable to attend, the meeting will also be
WEBCAST IN REAL TIME.
Details on how to participate in the webcast will be posted here, closer to
the meeting date. The meeting agenda will be also be available here, on
October 15, 2002.

Request for Information
As part of the committee's data gathering
activities, we are seeking input on the following:
1) Hypotheses about the potential role of
vaccinations in sudden unexpected death in infancy.
2) Biologic mechanisms that explain the potential role of vaccinations in
sudden unexpected death in infancy.
We welcome information such as original articles
or citations, suggestions of key researchers with expertise on this issue,
and other types of information. Please note that the National Academy of
Sciences' complies with Section 15 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA),
and therefore, all materials that are distributed to the committee will be
submitted to a public access file.
