MMR tests "worthless"
A leading
vaccine expert, Dr Tom Jefferson, is claiming that government evidence which
says that the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe is worth nothing.
Dr Jefferson states that only three of the hundreds of MMR studies carried out
over the last thirty-two years are of sufficient quality to draw conclusions
about the MMR side-effects, as most of the research failed to compare children
who had had MMR vaccination with those who hadn't, or didn't compare children
before and after the vaccination.
The Department of Health's countered Dr Jefferson's claims by saying that none
of the studies pointed to risk of autism from having the vaccine. A Department
of Health spokesman insisted that the best method of protection against
contracting measles, mumps and rubella is still to have the MMR vaccine.
