"Wyeth Vaccine Move to Affect 800 Jobs"
New York Times (www.nytimes.com) (11/23/02) P. C14
Wyeth's recent decision to stop producing the influenza vaccine will result in a change of its workforce for 800 jobs, the company announced. According to spokesman Lowell Weiner, employees will either be eliminated or reassigned to other groups. Wyeth made the move based on low demand for the vaccine in the United States, though it is continuing development of a nasal-spray flu vaccine, FluMist, with MedImmune.
