Unlicenced vaccine warning

The Eastern Health Board is today issuing a warnng about the use of an unlicensed vaccine for mumps and measles.

They say they are concerned about `pavivac`, a single dose vaccine which has been imported into the country by a number of parents.

It is understood that the vaccine can cause alleric reaction in children who are sensitive to dog hair.

The health board is also warning that the vaccine is ineffective unless stored at very low temperatures of between minus 10 and minus 20 degrees.
