The Medicines Control Agency in Great Britain informed importers, that they will not be able to import mumps vaccines which contain the urabe strain of the virus as the product is not approved in the UK. The Committee on Safety of Medicines checked the safety data and came to the conclusion that urabe vaccines pose an unacceptable risk in view of possible meningitis.
