"Tennessee: Volunteers Vaccinated Against Smallpox"

Washington Times (www.washtimes.com) (11/14/02) P. A10

In an effort to determine what dosage level of the smallpox vaccine will protect people and whether the shots can spread the disease to people who have not been vaccinated, about 150 volunteers in Tennessee have been vaccinated against the deadly disease.  The research is being conducted at Vanderbilt University, with similar studies being held at the universities of Iowa and Cincinnati.
