"Polio Still Prevalent in Nigeria"

On Sunday, the Nigerian Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) issued a report showing 124 confirmed polio cases in 14 states between January 2002 and July 2002, compared to just 57 confirmed cases for the same period last year. The worst area in the country in terms of polio infection is Kano State, with 39 confirmed polio cases. India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Niger are the five countries with the most polio cases, according to the World Health Organization.
