GOP Outrage: Homeland Security Bill Protects Big Drug Companies
and Tax Cheats
The purpose of the Homeland Security bill is to protect Americans,
not to protect pharmaceutical companies whose products harm children
or companies who move offshore to avoid paying their fair share of
U.S. taxes.
But in an outrageous affront to American families,
Republicans are using the Homeland Security Bill to pass these exact
special interest giveaways in order to pay back big campaign donors.
They've inserted language to protect big drug companies from
liability when they produce vaccines that hurt children. They've
included a provision to ensure that our government can do business
with the companies that avoid paying their fair share of taxes by
renting a post office box in Bermuda or another tax haven.
Democrats are fighting these special interest giveaways, but we
need your help!

provisions out of the bill and make sure the Homeland Security bill
protects American families, not big special interests!

Quote of the Week
"If this is a homeland security bill, let's keep it homeland
security-related, and let's take out all this terrible special
interest legislation that has nothing to do with homeland security."
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle
