"Wyeth's Meningitis Vaccine Prevnar Backed by FDA Panel to Treat Ear Infections" AFX-Europe (www.afxpress.com/corporate/AFX-Europe.htm) (05/21/02)
Wyeth Vaccine's Prevnar product should be approved as a remedy for otitis media caused by streptococcus pneumonia, concludes the FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee. Vice President of Scientific Affairs and Research Strategy Peter Paradiso stresses that the vaccine should still be considered mainly as an invasive pneumococcal disease treatment.
