With all the animals we care for, it is not possible to check these links regularly, so please let us know if you find a link that's not working. Additionally, we appreciate being notified about any holistic links you feel should be added to our site. It is our goal to provide as much holistic information to you, ourselves, and others. Thank YOU! We have provided many links to give you information about different health care modalities and among them is traditional veterinary information to assist in your research of diseases, etc. We do not necessarily advocate use of traditional vet medicine, but believe some of these sites are useful in obtaining knowledge. If you question any information and are truly seeking holistic remedies, I urge to look into some of the holistic animal health discussion lists where there are many others who have learned from experience, many who are in the animal health field, book authors, breeders, etc., who can help provide you insight into information you are seeking. We strongly believe everything was put on this planet that we need to cure disease. The higher Spirit/Being, God, Goddess, whomever you believe in, did not put needles here for us to inject ourselves and our animals with, amongst many other man made drugs, etc. Our experiences, amongst those of MANY others, is showing without a doubt, that holistic care is truly best. Please take your time and thoroughly research the things you have come here for. Longevity and superior health is what you will gain, as will your companions. The bottom line goal is not just to treat any dis-ease or illness, but to effect a permanent CURE. Holistic methods can do this, whereas traditional man made medicines usually only effect a temporary relief from illness or dis-ease. Healthy
animals rarely succumb to disease, illness, or bad behaviors. When they do,
they bounce back quicker than unhealthy animals. They get plenty of
exercise, sunshine, love, tlc, natural rearing foods that are biologically
appropriate to the specific animal, clean environments, mental exercise in
the way of proper, appropriate training, and avoidance of toxins. They have
jobs to keep them busy, whether watching the house while we are gone or
making sure the couch or cats don't get eaten while we are away. They are
part of our family. Often, they are better than a few humans in our
immediate family and deserve the BEST possible health care we can give them.

Medicine - University of Illinois NUTRITION: So what's a natural rearing diet? What would your animal normally eat in the wild or a closely simulated diet? For instance, dogs and cats are carnivores. Prepackaged feeds are full of preservatives and "dead" food/nutrients with no vital life force left in them. A raw diet or biologically appropriate raw food (BARF) diet is ultimately best for them. A great book that tells about what's in prepackaged pet foods is, "Foods Pet Die For", written by Anne Martin. Most prepackaged supermarket and feed store kibbles often utilize rendered animals (i.e., euthanized shelter animals, ill/diseased and antibiotic ridden livestock, roadkill, etc.) as their main source of protein. Some kibbles are preserved with preservatives that are used to preserve your automobile's tires! Top name brand kibbles included. Only Natural HOLISTIC ANIMAL HEALTH ONLINE DISCUSSION LISTS: Here are a few holistic animal health online discussion lists. Many of these discussion lists have animal health professionals (DVM's, AHT's, etc.) and holistic animal health book authors and like minded individuals. Wellpet ANIMAL VACCINES: Vaccines are a very controversial subject. For interesting information, check out the Just Say No to Vaccines discussion list. Two of our canids got vaccinosis, due to vaccines. I did what my traditional vet said and vaccinated them annually. After all, they are my babies and I want to take the best care of them. All the while, they'd vomit, get diarreah, and their noses turned pink. Humm, that's not right. After investigating and researching and finding a fabulous holistic vet who advised to NEVER vaccinate any critters, young or old, large or small, we have found even better health amongst our animals that travel to beaches, parks, and run with coyotes. It's worth your time to investigate the pros and cons of vaccinating. Know that if your animals are ultimately healthy with great natural rearing diets, exercise, sunshine, mental/physical health, they shouldn't succumb to disease and if they do, it's readily curable holistically.
