"Success for MMR Campaign"

Financial Times (www.ft.com) (05/17/02) P. 2; Timmins, Nicholas

The British government's new immunization campaign for measles, mumps and rubella has shown some slight benefit, according to figures from the Public Health Laboratory Service.  The number of children receiving the MMR vaccine increased to 72 percent in April, after dropping to 70.1 percent in March.  A sharp decline in vaccine take-up from 76.2 percent in December was due primarily to publicity given to some highly controversial data regarding the safety of vaccines in general.
