U.S. IMMUNIZATION NEWS
"Clinic's Goal: Keep Travelers Healthy Abroad"
Atlanta Journal-Constitution (www.accessatlanta.com/ajc)
(05/22/02) P. 1F; Thrasher, Paula Crouch
International travelers can obtain information about the health risks and appropriate immunizations for a specific destination from Atlanta, Ga., based Emory Healthcare's TravelWell clinics. Phyllis Kozarsky, director of TravelWell and professor of medicine and infectious disease at Emory University, asserts that pre-travel education is important to prevent diseases and inform some people that despite having health and youth on their side, they can be struck by serious diseases. Clinics provide physical exams, prescriptions, immunizations, and education about specific travel destinations to each client.
