INTERNATIONAL IMMUNIZATION NEWS
"Humanitarian Crisis for Palestinians"
Associated Press (www.ap.org) (04/30/02); Koppel, Naomi
Due to Israeli incursions in Palestine, aid agencies such as the U.N. Relief and Works Agency face difficulties when it comes to the health of Palestinians. The country is at risk of a measles outbreak because the immunization program has stopped, and the delivery of emergency health kits was delayed after Israel refused to let the plane land, says World Health Organization spokesperson Fadela Chaib. Chaib noted that they are now trying to move the health kits towards the West Bank by road.
