In the recent Time magazine article, The Secrets of Autism by J.
Madeleine Nash, the first sentence below the article says the following:
"The number of children diagnosed with autism and Asperger's in the U.S.
is exploding. Why?"

A good question but yet the physicians and researchers avoid this issue
and say that autism is genetic. There has never been nor will there ever
be a genetic epidemic but yet most of the research dollars spent on
autism go toward genetic studies. On our Autism Autoimmunity Project web
site (http://www.gti.net/truegrit/) The U.S. Autism Epidemic: Our Bitter
Harvest says it all. The medical community and government health
officials avoid the vaccine/autism link regarding the MMR vaccine. Not
only has Dr. Wakefield found measles in the gut but Dr. Vijendra Singh
of the Utah State University has found a connection in the immune system
with elevated measles antibody titers. Also, Dr. James Oleske of UMDNJ,
Newark, NJ has found elevated measles antibody titers in children with
autism.

Rather than doing clinical studies to replicate the work of Drs.
Wakefield, Singh and Oleske, the medical community and government health
officials issue opinion reports. Rather than pushing the science forward
to get an explanation for measles in the gut and elevated measles
antibody titers in children with autism, they would rather issue denials
that there is no link between vaccines and autism. These medical
community and government health official "experts" need to go back to
basics and learn Clinical Science 101.

As time goes on and the autism epidemic continues, the public will hold
our government health officials responsible for not adequately doing the
science on the vaccine/autism link. This will definitely come back to
haunt these people. The fact that there has not been any independent,
long-term safety studies on the MMR vaccine and all the other vaccines
on the market is shameful.

The time is now for clinical science, not opinion reports, to stop the
autism epidemic and help our children that are already affected by this
terrible disorder caused autism. To deny something without doing the
science is ignorance.
