ATEDM, Convocation - Privileged Press Meeeting: The World's Leading Autism Specialists Invite You to Meet Them

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--A unique occasion is offered to journalists. You are invited to a privileged press meeting with the world's leading specialists and researchers on the causes of, and treatments for autism in order to provide you with an opportunity to exchange and discuss this subject with them. Conference speakers of Autism 2002, taking place this week at UQAM, will be available for a press meeting which will take the form of a round-table discussion. A continental breakfast will be available for this occasion.

The media's interest in autism has been growing steadily because of the epidemic nature of this disease. One thing is certain, we cannot deny the fact that certain elements are unleashing this disease; otherwise, how do we explain why a child who experienced normal development suddenly loses all their skills, including

language, unable to communicate with those around him. This is why research is so important. Only research can help us to understand this phenomenon.. All hypotheses, questions, and research results merit serious attention and study. Therefore, it is essential to consider all the factors which could be responsible for the

appearance of autism, for the love of our children.

The world's leading specialists, physicians and researchers in the world of autism today personally invite you to meet them on this informal occasion, on Friday, May 3 from 8- 9 a.m. at UQAM, immediately prior to the opening of the third medical conference on autism in Quebec entitled: Autism 2002: Mercury, Heavy Metals...Toxicity. This invitation is also extended to the Directors of the Department of Public Health of Quebec and of Health Canada.
