Tetanus Shots In Short Supply

A nationwide shortage of the tetanus vaccine may cause some children

to have to skip getting one of their booster shots this year.

The shortage of tetanus vaccines was caused by a halt in production

by one of the two companies that makes is, which has created a huge

backlog, doctors say.

Until the supply is brought back to normal, the vaccine will only be

given to infants and when there is an emergency.

Schools may not require students to get the booster before going back

to school. Doctors have told parents not to worry about children who

don't get the shot.
