Perth scientists Professor Barry
Marshall and Dr. Robin Warren identified the link between the Heliobacter pylori germ and stomach ulcers some 20 years
ago. Now, Marshall says a vaccine for ulcers
may be developed within the next decade, to be delivered through injection or
through food ingestion. Marshall notes that a vaccine
delivered via injection or through everyday foods, such as bananas or potatoes,
could be particularly useful for Third World nations.
