"Japan Helps to Vaccinate 1.5 Million Uzbek Children"

The Japanese government provided a grant worth $1.5 million to Uzbekistan that financed preparations and cooling equipment, as Uzbekistan vaccinated 1.5 million children against measles, poliomyelitis, pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus. Vaccines and equipment were delivered by Japanese trading company SEM Corporation. In recent years, Japan has supplied medical technology, medical equipment, and drugs via a $7 million grant for the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Aid.
