Here We Go Again -- Lets Vaccinate the
Preemies
Extremely premature infants who
are immunized against diphtheria, tetanus and other diseases at the same
ages as full-term babies, as recommended by the American Academy of
Pediatrics, appear to remain protected against these diseases during their
early elementary school years.
Previous research suggested
that these infants might exhibit a reduced immune response in later years.
This response wanes over the
first 7 years of life more rapidly than in former full-term infants, but the
premature babies' antibody levels are still okay at 7 years.
Furthermore, the two groups had
similar immunity to pertussis and polio, the report indicates.
"These findings support the
American Academy of Pediatrics' general recommendation to immunize premature
infants in the same way as one would immunize full-term infants," D'Angio
said.
The fact that premature
infants' antibody levels are still somewhat lower than full-term babies'
levels all the way out to 7 years implies that there may be some important,
basic differences in the immune system if a baby is born early.

DR. MERCOLA'S COMMENT:
Here we go again. A study to
support the vaccination of premature infants.
Guess what is missing?
Safety data. There is
absolutely none. Just some suggestion that antibodies are formed.
Please note that these
antibodies are more normal than one would expect.
Sooner or later, medicine
will wake up and realize the incredible damage they are doing to the
vulnerable immune and nervous system of these tiny babies.
My dental hygienist, Amy,
recently had her first baby. Unfortunately she had pre-eclampsia and
delivered at 23 weeks. Her baby was the smallest infant ever delivered at
Rush Pres St. Luke's in Chicago.
She weighed 390 grams and
was born at 27 weeks and was the size of a 23-weeker to due preeclampsia.
For those of you who don't know metrics, that is about 14 ounces.
As an aside, I recently
became aware that optimizing the omega-3 to omega-6 fat ratio maybe one of
the key ways to prevent preelampsia.
She was just discharged, but
only after a four month stay, and multiple surgeries and intubations.
This was a major surprise to
Amy as she leads a totally natural lifestyle and has so since she was a
small child as her mom was oriented towards healthy living.
The point of this story is
that her physicians would bug her incessantly about the immunizations. It
was so bad, that Amy had selected a pediatrician who had agreed to give her
a discharge follow-up and Amy had discussed at length her desire to not
immunize her child. The pediatrician was OK with that.
But prior to discharge the
doctors at the hospital refused to discharge her unless there was a doctor
who would take responsibility for her afterwards. Well, they called the
doctor Amy had selected and intimidated her into saying she would not take
care of her without immunizations.
This really was not a
problem for Amy as this was merely a back-up physician and her regular
pediatricians would have no problem accepting the child for post hospital
care.
It is absolutely amazing how
entrenched the immunization belief system is among physicians.
I am still having a hard
time getting over how ANY physician in their right mind could possibly
recommend a flu
vaccine to an infant when they know it is contaminated with mercury and
that is exactly what was NOT supposed to be given to children.
Realize that this is coming
from the "experts" at the Centers for Disease Control. Seems to me they
should contact the Institute of Medicine which was quite clear about stating
that mercury should NOT be in vaccines.
