 “BioPort Working on New Anthrax Vaccine”

BioPort is working on a next-generation anthrax vaccine to stave off potential competition from other companies and groups.  The company’s current vaccine is effective, but its 18-month administration time may be too lengthy for mass vaccinations. Only three doses over two months to three months would be necessary for the new nasal spray BioPort is developing.  The U.S. military has not made any final determination on restarting mass anthrax immunization among soldiers though the company has fixed its earlier production problem
