"Asian Countries Urged to Pool Resources in Fight Against Influenza" Deutsche Presse Agentur (www.dpa.de) (03/14/02)

Speaking to the International Congress on Infectious Disease recently, Singapore General Hospital virologist Ling Ai Ee urged Asian nations to pool their resources and information about influenza.  Surveillance and vaccine production could be coordinated with a regional center in Singapore, she suggested. Ling also stressed that vaccination is the most cost-effective way to prevent and control influenza.
