"35 Die of Meningitis in Nigeria"

The News Agency of Nigeria reported this week that meningitis has killed 35 people in northeastern Nigeria, hitting Ganye, Yola-North, Yola-South and Gombi particularly hard.  Ahmadu Sameni, the Adamawa State commissioner for health, said the Nigerian government, in an effort to control the disease, has supplied about $45,000 dollars and 245,000 doses of vaccine to the infected regions.
