"PM to Launch Hepatitis-B Pilot Project on Monday"

Press Trust of India (www.ptinews.com) (06/08/02)

Fifteen metropolitan cities and 32 rural districts will participate in the Hepatitis-B Pilot Project, which will help these areas improve routine immunizations, says India's Federal Health Minister C.P. Thakur.  "These districts have been selected on the basis of their past and current performance under the immunization program, and this would encourage other cities and districts to improve their routine immunization programs," noted a press release from the Health Ministry that quoted Thakur.  The program will use auto-disabled syringes and needles for all vaccinations.
