CORRECTION
The June 24 Immunization News contained an abstract of the article "Smallpox Proposal Raises Ethical Isses" from the June 22 New York Times. The abstract incorrectly suggested that the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended that immunizations would be mandatory for the "first response teams" of health care workers and law enforcement officials. In fact, there are no recommendations or plans to make such immunizations mandatory. Additionally, the abstract incorrectly stated that the article said that some government officials panned the proposal, which was not the case. For more information on ACIP's recommendations on this issue, please go to http://www.cdc.gov/nip/smallpox/supp_recs.htm.
