I know first hand about the VAERS farce. I know you’ve heard this before, but feel free to pass it on where ever you have the chance along with my e-mail address, name, and everything.

Devan, at the time was four months old, and in great health born full term weighing almost 9 lbs and I had no problems during pregnancy or delivery. He was growing so fast and so well he was sitting up in his crib at that time. Sixteen hours after his shots he had an hour and ten minute seizure that was incredibly hard to get control of. It left him with brain damage and a seizure disorder causing these incredibly long lasting seizures every two to four weeks for the first two years of his life and then once every couple of months until his last year when he only had one at the end of an 11 month sz free time. The last time was 2 hours and left him so brain damaged that as his brain calcified, he slowly died a very painful death 8 weeks later.

VAERS/Vaccine Injury Compensation Program denied our claim ONLY BECAUSE he did not have a fever with his first seizure. He did with all the others. The only difference was that because we were going to get him shots that day, on my pediatrician’s suggestion, I gave him Tylenol around the clock every four hours from 2 hours before his Dr. appt. until I found him seizing at 5 am. All the doctors were willing to say that he may have spiked a fever and it came down before they took his temp at the hospital, but I DIDN’T THINK TO TAKE IT WHILE HE WAS SEIZING!! It never occurred to me that since he felt rather warm, I should see exactly how high his temperature was in case we needed it in a court of law to prove a vaccine reaction!!! My thought was that since the pamphlet from the manufacturer specifically stated ‘long lasting seizures (over 30 minutes in duration)’ as a reaction, that it in no way suggested I could be compensated from the government.

So now my little dark haired, blue eyed boy is dead, I know the truth, you know the truth, anyone with logic knows the truth, but a legal loophole saves the government from having to accept that truth.

So you tell those people who rely on those safe guards what I said. You know why? Because I trusted, I read the literature, I knew the risk, I took the risk for the sake of our ‘society’ as I was told how to be a good mom, and when my son gave his life for the sake of HIS country and I sacrificed MY son for the ‘good of all’ as I understood it....He is NOT acknowledged as the hero and martyr that he was. Someone needs to understand that and I hope I have made my point. I believed in being a good mom and I took the risk, and they betrayed me and left me with medical bills, hospital bills, and funeral expenses. And a grave to visit.

I hadn’t read enough to know that Sheri had already put my story out there and some of you were commenting on it. Combine the two they each have some different info. One of these days, I promise I am going to have a web site with my gentle one’s precious face on it and I’ll tell the story from all angles, not just the reaction, but the VAERS/VICP farce and all.

HOWEVER, I do want to mention that a few in Congress are trying to make

this right. In particular that would have helped my case, is that IF the

govt is going to deny and say it was a coincidence and something else

caused the seizure, they will also have to prove what that something else

is. They can’t just deny offhand, they have to give the reason it was not

and what it really was. ALL OF YOU CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN’S LOCAL OFFICE AND ASK THEY TO SUPPORT HR1287 AND CO-SPONSOR THE BILL IMMEDIATELY. Give them the info from in here for why VICP needs to be realigned, updated so to speak. It makes more of an impact if you write it. Cut and paste my story about how Devan was denied compensation because he didn’t have a fever and ask for their support by cosponsoring the bill. Cosponsoring just means they have looked at it and lend their name to it’s credibility. If we don’t get it cosponsored it may never get out of committee. It has to get out of committee to be presented to Congress to vote on, and then on to the President to sign it in to law. He is likely to do that because the original was enacted by Reagan, but WE HAVE TO GET IT OUT OF COMMITTEE AND ON TO THE FLOOR first.

Let’s not just complain about injustice, let’s act. Please, for Devan and the others who will come after him. I can’t tell you what a slap in the face it is to be betrayed as I expressed in my previous e-mail.
