“Governments Working Together on Vaccine”
Montreal Gazette (www.montrealgazette.com) (04/05/01) P. A6;
Dougherty, Kevin
An outbreak of meningitis C in Quebec has prompted health minister
Remy Trudel to urge Canadian regulatory approval of Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories’
Meningitec vaccine. Quebecois who have
not been inoculated against meningitis are discouraged from using the old
vaccine because the newer product, which has been utilized in Britain,
reportedly is more effective and causes fewer side effects.
