"Zambia to Immunize One Million Children Against Polio" Xinhua News Agency (202.84.17.11/en/main.htm) (07/23/02)
Two upcoming rounds of sub-national polio immunization days, scheduled for July 24 through July 28 and August 29 through September 2, will target 1 million Zambian children under the age of five. Along with the polio vaccine, the children will also receive vitamin A supplementation, according to a joint statement by the World Health Organization and Zambia's Central Board of Health. In order to increase cross-border immunization, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola are expected to conduct polio immunization days during the same time periods. ALL INFORMATION, DATA, AND
