"UN Vaccinates Afghan Children, Polio Cases Down"

UNICEF announced Thursday that a three-day polio vaccination campaign in Afghanistan this week reached 1.23 million children. According to UNICEF spokesman Edward Carwadine, approximately 10 million children in the country have been vaccinated against polio this year. There have only been two confirmed reports of polio in Afghanistan so far this year, down from 11 in 2001.
