The Philippine village of San Jose in General Santos City has experienced an outbreak of measles that has taken the lives of seven children and hospitalized 14 others.  The children who died ranged in age from five years to nine years old and were not immunized against the disease during a recent measles vaccination campaign, according to city health officer Fidel Penamante.  The door-to-door vaccination campaign was supposed to vaccinate all children between the ages of nine months to five years, and it is unclear how some children escaped vaccination.
