"Polio Vaccinations in Burkina Faso, Niger" Agence France Presse (www.afp.com/english/home) (07/30/02)
The World Health Organization (WHO) is holding a "mop-up" polio vaccination campaign in Burkina Faso and Niger following the discovery last month of a boy from Niger who was infected with the virus. The vaccination effort is targeting over 500,000 children in border districts of northern Burkina Faso and southern Niger, said the WHO's Christine McNab. Six cases of polio were recorded last year in Niger, according to WHO statistics. ALL INFORMATION, DATA, AND
