"India, U.S. to Develop Vaccines for AIDS, Malaria, TB"

Press Trust of India (www.ptinews.com) (07/22/02)

India and the United States have come up with a five-year strategic plan regarding the development of vaccines for HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis (TB).  A Joint Working Group

(JWG) recommended that the Indo-US Vaccine Action Program (VAP), founded in 1987, be extended for another five years after considering the achievements and strong foundations made so far by the group.  Since the project began, 36 programs have been implemented successfully, and others are currently underway.
