Dear NBC:
On behalf of the thousands of families who have children who
been injured or
killed from vaccine reactions, I would like to offer you some
parting words (I
will never watch your show again) in the same spirit of the
words of Elizabeth
to Carrie when referring Carrie’s treatment of Mark Green in
your 2/15 episode
of ER, “I hope that the people responsible for putting together this despicable show have
a child who has a fatal reaction to a vaccine so that our organization can do nothing
to help them.”
If we had any doubt about where this was coming from, that
doubt was resolved after seeing the PREVNAR vaccine add right after your script
bashed the parent for having concerns.

I was personally almost killed by the measles vaccine.
Until you’ve had someone close to you injured or killed by something doctors
told you was for your health (vaccination), you probably won’t understand the
pain and anger that these families experience on a daily basis.
If you ever decide to make up for this with a show
depicting the more likely scenario in an ER of a DPT or Hep B vaccine reaction,
let me know and I’ll watch it. Until
then, NBC is down the toilet as far as our family is concerned.
Your lack of compassion and sensitivity about a very real
problem is highly disturbing.
