The facts.

At the moment there is a lot of debate about the topic of the M.M.R. injection. Prior to 1988 children were given single jabs for measles, mumps and then rubella, the Department of Health then introduced the triple vaccination, (all three in one).

One of their arguments to do this was that parents would forget to return to the doctors for one or both of the other jabs after the first one. Our response to this is, "Would a responsible parent forget something that could save their child from illness or even death?"

Another argument was the cost, it is less expensive to give a child one jab rather than three. This we can agree with, but when it comes to a childs health should the cost really matter?

The Government should tell us about all the pros and cons on both type of injection, the M.M.R. or singular jabs. The parents can then decide for themselves which they feel would be the best option for their child.

We have no doubt that some parents will feel that the M.M.R. is the best option where others would prefer the singular injections. We should begiven all the available information,and have the power to choose for our children.

It is our intention to hand our petition to the Department of Health and the Government, and try to convince them that this decision should be left in the hands of the parents. After all no two children are the same so the parents of each child knows best.
