MMR half-truths

The weekly rummage through the Department of Health’s propaganda cupboard by Linda Long, of Sense Scotland, is becoming tiresome (Letters, 16 February). On every occasion she voices the half-truth foisted on the unsuspecting by the masters of obfuscation.

Nobody has denied the success of MMR in eliminating measles, mumps and rubella. Since MMR introduction, however, regressive autism, a previously rare condition, has in-creased tenfold.

Sense will be interested to learn that the rise in regressive autism after MMR introduction has occurred in Finland. The scientific study confirming this has been conveniently ignored in favour of other questionable Finnish studies.
