Associated Press
TRENTON, N.J.
(December 17, 2:41 p.m. AST) - In a story on shortages of many important
drugs, The Associated Press reported erroneously on Dec. 13 that
pharmaceutical company Wyeth had stopped making its pneumococcal vaccines.
The company has stopped making Pnu-Imune, its pneumococcal vaccine for
adults and children over 5 years old. But it continues to make its
pneumococcal vaccine for babies, Prevnar, which has been in short supply for
about 10 months, Wyeth spokesman Doug Petkus said.
