"Vaccine Experts Upset by Renewed Safety Doubts"

George Washington University's Dr. Peter Hotez, an advisor to the Sabin Vaccine Institute, says efforts to link vaccines to autism may discourage some people from vaccinating their children, thereby endangering their health. He notes that current research does not show any connection between the disorder and vaccinations. Children typically show signs of autism at around age two, which coincides with the completion of their vaccination schedule. Meanwhile, Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.) re-introduced congressional hearings on vaccine safety on Tuesday.
