U.S. IMMUNIZATION NEWS
"State Urges Students to Consider Vaccines"
Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel (www.sun-sentinel.com) (12/29/02) P. 5B; Peltz, Jennifer
Florida is urging college students living in campus housing to receive vaccinations against meningococcal meningitis and hepatitis B. The two vaccines are required for students living in campus housing at both public and private institutions as of January 2003; however, the law does not give a deadline for students to either get the vaccinations or sign a form waiving the requirement. Under the new law, the schools must distribute information about the vaccines, but they are not required to pay for the shots.
