"Myanmar Launches National Immunization Campaign" Xinhua News Agency (202.84.17.11/en/main.htm) (12/09/02)
Health officials in Myanmar launched this weekend the country's Eighth National Immunization Days campaign, aiming to vaccinate 6.2 million children under the age of five against polio. Thousands of people are mobilizing to help the campaign, which is in cooperation with Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, and China's Yunnan Province. No cases of polio have been recorded in Myanmar this year, and officials there hope to eradicate the disease by year-end 2003. ALL INFORMATION, DATA, AND
