"Measles Outbreak Kills Eight in South Philippines"

Health officials in the Philippines report that a measles outbreak in the southern part of the country has so far hospitalized about 60 people. The outbreak has also taken the lives of eight residents, mostly children. The outbreak was first reported on Dec. 23, and area officials have requested food and medical aid for the patients from Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
