"Avant's Cholera Vaccine to be Tested on Bangladeshi Children" Asia Pulse (www.asiapulse.com) (12/13/02)
Phase II clinical testing of AVANT Immunotherapeutics' CholeraGarde vaccine is taking place in Bangladesh. The International Vaccine Institute is running the trial to help meet its goal of allaying the disease toll in developing countries through the acceleration of vaccine development. AVANT Vice President Alistair Wheeler say that the cholera immunization will be tested in progressively younger patients over the next two years. The company also plans to commence trials of the Ty800 typhoid fever vaccine.
