"Anti-Polio Drive Launched"

Health officials in Pakistan launched this week a three-day polio vaccination effort targeting 1.2 million Malakand children under the age of five. For the campaign, over 300 teams will go door-to-door to administer the oral polio vaccine to children. A total of 41 fixed vaccination centers are also participating in the effort. Speaking Monday at the launch of the campaign, one official, Dr. Fasihuddind, noted that 80 cases of polio have been recorded in Pakistan this year, including one in Malakand.
